What a great gift! It's perfect that she gets to vicariously enjoy the yarn and knitting through your enjoyment. My close friend and her mom are avid weavers. Since her mom goes through yarn phases, and then gets tired of them, my friend gets all this spectacular yarn that her mom just isn't going to use. Cool thing is, sometimes I get some too. Her mom was in a long phase of silk chenille and my friend and I have been lucky recipients. Enjoy your new skein!


That's really quite lovely, it looks felted, or it might just be my tired Friday eyes.
