One Local Summer: week 2, 2008

I had good intentions to post this weekend but after an extremely hectic week at work and a weekend out of town it looked like it would have to wait until Monday -- and now that I have been without power for 16 hours (and they don't think they will get it back on for another five or so...) well I will just say that it is good to have fall backs for these busy weeks along with lots of pasta veggie salads with mostly local veggies and non local pasta, I had an entirely local meal of Smithmeadow pasta and roasted tomato sauce which I canned and a lovely salad of mixed lettuces, dried apples and a bit of feta with balsamic vinigrette. I will update with a photo and details (maybe even a recipe for the sauce) when the power returns.

I also have lots of knitting to report so now that work is wrapping up for a bit I should get back to posting regularly.

Hey! It was good seeing you last night. I'm currently cleaning up from the disaster that is a trip from Ikea (and still trying to finish putting together the furniture) but once I do that I'm going to have to play some catch-up on the canning/freezing front. We should make a day of it!

No power for 16 hours...kill me now!
