Laura over at (not so) Urban Hennery has announced that she will once again organize a challenge where we try to eat local meals in the depths of the winter season. This is a challenge that is getting more and more easy as many farmer's markets shift to a year round schedule and more farmers are playing around with season extending innovations like cold frames, hoop houses, and removable green houses.
So what are the details of the challenge?
- The challenge will run from Sunday, November 27th, 2011 to Saturday, March 31st, 2012.
- Each week you will create one meal that relies on local, sustainable, ethical ingredients and post it on your blog and then email the person in charge of recaps with a link to your post. That is it.
- You define local (I like to go with 150 miles in the winter) and can choose your exceptions (things like oil, spices, chocolate, coffee and tea)
Interested? Head on over to Laura's and sign up or just read the recaps and get inspired to create your own meals.
